Sailer’s Adventurer: Taylor — Finding Strength in Freedom

By Erika Fernandes-Rusan

Meet Taylor

Docket in: Easton, MA

Vibe in three words: Caring. Fun. Resilient.

Adventure means: “Figuring out how to be independent and still embracing joy.”

“Doing the things that I want and what makes me happy. I’ve always been a people pleaser and never put myself first. Now I’m my first priority and it’s freeing having the confidence to do so.”

For Taylor, adventure doesn’t always look like climbing mountains or jumping out of airplanes—though she’d definitely go skydiving if given the chance. Sometimes, adventure is quieter. It’s about stepping outside of comfort zones, sitting with stillness, and finding courage in independence.

“Doing the things that make me happy fuels my soul and keeps me going.”

We met at the barn where she keeps her beautiful pony, Roxy—the love of her life, as Taylor will tell anyone with the biggest smile. My kids ran around and found a litter of kittens while Taylor, proudly, brushed down Roxy and prepped her for the shoot. Their bond was so obvious—Horses don’t speak, and Roxy didn’t need to. You could see her gratitude and love in every praise, and over the years of being besties they have many stories to tell.

Taylor’s kindness is undeniable. She exudes love while prancing around the barn with Roxy sharing stories about her work leading riding classes as emotional support for autistic children. Just another reason to love Taylor, her easygoing spirit and how naturally she connects—with animals, with people, with life itself.

“…When I first moved to Plymouth, I discovered how much I enjoyed being outdoors, in the quiet of nature… I was also going through some pretty serious mental health struggles… I found my calm at the farm with my horse, going for bike rides along the canal, or simply sitting out in nature listening to the breeze and the quiet peace it had to offer…”

It was in those quiet moments that Taylor reemerged! Goofy, fun, and caring, the version of her that had always been there but needed space to breathe.

“Without my support system of  family, friends, coworkers, and my animals, I don’t know where I would be today. Being outside in the quiet of nature, being with my support system or spending time with my horse,… fuels my soul and keeps me going.”

Her most daring adventure to date? Not one big leap, but many small ones. Pushing herself through heartbreak, healing, and learning to live in her own courage:

“Just doing things on my own… Pushing myself out of my boundaries, while dealing with a breakup, figuring out how to be alone, and healing my mental health. It was HARD… but I pushed through and am now the best version of myself...”

One of the most wild and free moments she has to share?—A solo camping trip at Myles Standish.

“I booked a night and went camping by myself. As a woman, being alone somewhere can be nerve-wracking. But I did it—I made a fire, cooked meals, set up camp… When I finished that trip, I felt so confident. It made me realize I can do things on my own, and I don’t need someone to depend on.”

That’s Taylor: quiet strength, building herself up piece by piece and re-discovering freedom.

Her dream destination? “I’ve always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon. And I will make sure that I do.”

Her adventurer spirit in one word? “Classic.”

✨Sailer’s Vision:

Taylor’s story is one of quiet resilience and bold self-discovery. She lives in her own independence, and her go to outfit especially when at the barn is jeans, boots, and a comfy hat. She embodies the Sailer values with each choice:

“Just a reminder to do things that make you happy. It’s okay to go out of your comfort zone and do things that fuel your soul.”

Taylor is living proof that sometimes the bravest adventures doesn’t have to be loud and aren’t about chasing extremes. They’re about chasing freedom, and the joy of daring to put yourself first.
