Adventure Means: “Adventure to me is experiencing new places and seeing how people live, what things look like, and how it all feels in real life.”

“What drives me most is creating opportunities for artists and building something that connects people in a real way, whether that’s through a book, a feature, or a magazine.”

Some people create art. Others create space for art to exist.

Tianna DeNunzio has quietly built one of those spaces.

As founder of The Green Room at 831, she curates books and magazines inspired by the coast, featuring artists from around the world and giving their stories a place to be seen. Every issue feels thoughtfully assembled, celebrating creativity through ocean-inspired imagery, personal journeys, and meaningful connection.

I haven’t had the chance to meet Tianna in person yet, but after being featured in her recent publication, Inside the Break, I immediately understood why so many artists are drawn to her work. It isn’t simply beautiful. It’s intentional.

Like the ocean itself, it invites you to slow down.

“I’ve always felt most at home near the water.”

That connection to the coast weaves through everything she creates.

She’s always been drawn to art, interiors, storytelling, and the way creativity can completely transform how a space feels.

“At my core, I’m someone who loves creating and bringing ideas to life. I tend to just go for things and figure them out along the way, which is exactly how my business has grown.”

Sometimes the best adventures don’t begin with a map. Sometimes they begin with an idea.

Ask Tianna about the most daring thing she’s ever done, and she won’t mention climbing mountains or chasing extreme adventures.

She’ll tell you she started her business.

“I didn’t have everything figured out, and I definitely still don’t.”

Instead, she kept showing up.

“I’ve just been putting ideas out into the world, not knowing what would work and being okay with the possibility that some things wouldn’t.”

That vulnerability changed everything.

“I’ve become a lot more confident in trusting my instincts and moving forward without needing everything to be perfect first.”

And if she had the chance?

“I’d absolutely do it again.”

Freedom, for Tianna, isn’t about escaping responsibility.

It’s about choosing how to build your life.

“Freedom to me means having the ability to follow my ideas and create a life that I love, not what I feel like I’m supposed to do.”

As a business owner and mom to a toddler, flexibility has become part of that freedom.

“I’ve given myself permission to try new things, change direction, and trust my instincts instead of waiting for everything to be perfectly planned out.”

Her days may be unpredictable, but that’s exactly what allows creativity room to grow.

One memory still makes her smile.

Paddle boarding through the Intracoastal Waterway in Wilmington, North Carolina.

“I remember being so aware of the colors. The greens of the marsh, the way the water sparkled, and the warmth of the sun.”

No phones. No distractions.

“It reminded me how little you actually need to feel free.”

Travel has always shaped the way Tianna sees the world.

“Every place has its own energy, colors, and way of life, and I find that really exciting.”

It’s also something she hopes to share with her son as he grows older.

“Getting to show him new places and let him experience the world in his own way is something I’m really excited about.”

If she could wake up anywhere tomorrow, she’d choose Portugal.

“We’d be sitting on beach towels, probably eating ice cream, just hanging out and enjoying the views of the coastline and cliffsides.”

A place, she says, that has inspired how she wants to live.

Building a business taught Tianna something she didn’t expect.

“Over time, I realized I was capable of a lot more than I gave myself credit for.”

The fear never completely disappeared. She simply kept moving anyway.

“It taught me that there really aren’t ‘limits’ in the way I used to think, just things you haven’t tried yet.”

Maybe that’s why, when asked to describe her adventurer spirit: No Limits!

“What I connect with most is the idea that freedom and exploration don’t have to be extreme to be meaningful. It’s more about being open to new experiences and being willing to step outside of your comfort zone.”

That philosophy feels like the heartbeat behind everything Tianna creates.

She isn’t chasing adventure for the sake of adventure. She’s building a community where creativity has room to breathe. A place where artists from around the world can be discovered. Where stories matter. Where inspiration travels farther than any one coastline.

On her bucket list? The Maldives.

“The clear water, the overwater bungalows, just being completely surrounded by the ocean. It all looks unreal!”

I have a feeling we’ll eventually meet somewhere by the water. Until then, I’m grateful our paths crossed through Inside the Break and The Green Room at 831.

Adventure doesn’t always begin with certainty. Sometimes it begins with sharing an idea before you’re ready. Trusting your instincts. Creating something that connects people. And believing that the most meaningful journeys are often the ones you build one small, courageous step at a time.

Because sometimes the people creating opportunities for everyone else deserve to have their own story told too.
