Sailer’s Adventurer: Christofer Thrasher — Daring to Live Authentically

Adventure means: “Living life – as cliché as it sounds – as authentically as possible, experiencing all of the things that bring you pure joy.”
“Freedom to me means living life – as authentically as possible, experiencing all of the things that bring you pure joy.”
When I think of Chris, I think of someone who is full of life, he brings pure joy to the party, like the sound of a piano filling a room, and the kind of laughter that comes easy when you’re with someone you trust. He is one of my best friends—a creative soul, an incredible pianist and musician, and a true free spirit. My kids know him as “Uncle Chris,” and he’s part of our chosen family.
For this Sailer’s shoot, we met at a private beach in Eastham where he had rented a beach house with his family. I came down with mine, and we spent the afternoon by the sea. The owner of the house Chip had a sailboat and took us out sailing. Out there, deeper into the ocean, we admitted we were both “low key” afraid of the water. I laughed and said: “let’s be daring together.” So we did. We held hands, jumped in, and discovered that the water was warm, welcoming, and so alive. That moment—it was quick, fearless, and it felt so right. The sail ride in was chatty; as we shared stories of the ocean, the way back was quiet, and serene. Just like Chris—both full of energy and peace.
He lights up when talking about creativity, inspirations and brainstorming future projects and ideas with friends, the same way he feels connected to nature:
“...I love being outside, going on hikes through the trees, and being by the ocean lying on the sand and being in the sun. These activities refresh my soul! Luckily I’m not too far from mountains or Cape Cod for examples, so it’s easy, breezy for me to go out on a hiking or beach adventure.”
That joy shows up in quiet, grounding ways too: “Honestly, being alone in solitude with the trees on a warm summer day makes me feel wild and free.”
But daring doesn’t always look like cliff-jumping or sailing into the unknown. Sometimes it’s as simple as being brave and standing up for yourself:
“I think one of the most daring things I’ve ever done was standing up and advocating for myself. I won’t get into details, but there came a time I really needed to ask for help. It was really, really terrifying trying to accomplish this, but I did it anyway and it was one of the most positive things I could have ever done for myself.”
Adventure, for him, stretches across the globe and when asked about where he'd like to wake up and with who he shared:
“I think I’d want to wake up in Finland with my maternal family. I’m part Finnish and I’d love to be able to visit the Lapland and catch up with some of my extended family.”
On his bucket list is “an African safari, photographing the wild animals in their natural habitat!” And while travel calls his adventurous and daring soul, he also knows the thrill of facing fears right at the water’s edge when he dared “...jumping off some really high up rock cliffs into the ocean!”
So no brainer that If he had to sum up his spirit in a single word he says “Daring.”

When Chris heads out on an adventure, it’s not just about the destination but the way he carries his daring self through it, always showing up in style with “a cool hat/beanie, definitely a stylish athletic shirt, a solid pair of pants and some hiking boots.”
What draws him to Sailer’s is the same thing that draws him outside: “I love the reflection of natural landscapes in some of the clothing pieces. It links our style to the outdoors.”
That’s Chris. Both daring and gentle, wild and grounded. A soul who finds freedom in the small moments and excitement in the big leaps. Always creative, always authentic, and always reminding us that the truest adventure is living life your own way.
