Some people enter your life quietly, and before you know it, they’ve become part of your everyday adventure. That’s Jess.

We met years back at our daughters’ preschool graduation, and somewhere between small moments and shared chaos, friendship rooted itself naturally. Our girls became besties (so did we), and our families became part of the same crew. Jess has a steady and strong kind of presence, calm and powerful, the kind that always surprises you with something new and exciting.

When we photographed her for this story, she was expecting her second beauty, standing in a season full of change and anticipation. We spent the afternoon at her best friend’s barn meeting her pony, surrounded by adventure and the kind of rooted energy that fits Jess perfectly.

Jess is "a mom, dog mom, cat mom, military wife, and a military member" herself. She carries a beautiful unannounced strength, the kind you earn by choosing courage again and again, wherever life anchors you, ready and barefoot. Originally from western New York, she’s lived across Asia and the Pacific before ever planting roots in Plymouth.

Jess is full of adventure stories but one of her most unforgettable moments happened in Maui, a place filled with meaning, swimming in natural springs and waterfalls with her husband. The water was cold, no one else wanted to jump in, but they took the plunge anyway.

“I felt so at peace yet exhilarated.”

That quiet courage shows up everywhere in her story. She’s skydived. Joined the military right out of school and moved across countries, while serving her own. Although she would do any of these brave things again if she had a good reason to, the moment that felt most daring to her was choosing to plant roots in the East Coast:

“Moving to Massachusetts without knowing anyone or having family around. It was so scary but so worth it. I’d do it 1,000 times over.”

Freedom, for Jess, lives in simple everyday moments. Following her daughter’s lead into spontaneous walks, hikes, and new adventures. Choosing to say yes to life in small ways instead of waiting for big ones.

"When she is pulled to go for a walk or hike or try a new place, I try to make it happen so we can make the most of our lives!"

And strength? She learned that as a single mom for four years, realizing there truly were no limits to what she could do.

“Being a single mom for 4 years made me realize my true strength. Fixing my AC, renovating rooms in my house, fixing plumbing issues. If I want to do it, I can.”

It’s no surprise that her adventurer spirit comes down to two words: No Limits.

Whether dreaming of skiing in the Alps someday or imagining an escape to Oahu surrounded by friends, Jess reminds us that adventure doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like calm confidence and showing up fully for the life you’ve built. Her Dream Day:

"In Hawaii with all my friends! A beach bungalow on the north shore of Oahu, we would go have some smoothie bowls, sit by the water and listen to the waves and snorkel by some reefs to start off"
